HEARTLAND BURGERS
Serve these with VLASIC® Kosher Dill Spears and Chips.
1-pound ground beef
1 cup thinly sliced mushrooms
¼ cup finely chopped onion
½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼ teaspoon salt generous dash pepper
1/3 cup OPEN PIT® Original Flavor Barbecue Sauce
4 whole wheat hamburger buns, split, toasted and buffered Lettuce leaves tomato slices VLASIC® Hamburger Relish Sliced
onion.
In large bowl, combine beef, mushrooms, chopped onion, Worcestershire, salt and pepper. Shape into four 1-inch thick patties. On grill rack, place patties directly above medium coals. Grill, uncovered, until desired doneness (allow 10 minutes for medium and 12 minutes for well done), turning and brushing often with barbecue sauce. Place patties on buns with lettuce, tomato, relish and sliced onion.
Make 4 servings.
TO BROIL: Arrange patties on rack in broiler pan. Broil 4 inches from heat until desired doneness (allow 15 minutes for medium and 18 minutes for well done), turning and brushing often with barbecue sauce.
